PRESENT

In addition to the projects presented, that include a dam and two lakes, the Mining Museum and the facilities of the Ciência Viva Centre are also worth noting. They are both dedicated to cultural, educational and scientific research activities, embodying the memory of the generations of miners who explored these mines over the course of a century.

There is also a small 4-star hotel, a handy-crafts centre, a market, a bakery, a church and a restaurant serving typical Alentejo food. The projects fall under the scope of the land use plans of Grândola and Santiago do Cacém and are part of the Lousal Urban Development Plan, providing the village with access to the following infrastructures: road and rail networks, clean water works, domestic waste water, rainwater, electrical and telecommunications networks and municipal solid waste.
